North London Collegiate School Dubai (NLCS Dubai) is delighted to congratulate Mrs. Bernice McCabe on her inclusion as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). Mrs. McCabe, the former Headmistress at NLCS UK, was appointed Officer of the OBE by the Prince of Wales in a ceremony held at Buckingham Palace, London, Thursday, June 7th for her services to education.

Mrs. McCabe played an integral role in bringing North London Collegiate School to Dubai, and has helped to spread high quality IB education to other parts of the world. We deeply value her contribution to children’s education, and we wish her all the best as she continues to spread happiness throughout her community” said Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of KHDA.”
Mrs. McCabe had served as the Headmistress of NLCS for 20 years (1997-2017) as it maintained its position as one of the most academically successful schools in England.

Mrs. McCabe is responsible for NLCS expanding globally with new campuses in Jeju, South Korea in 2011 Dubai in 2017 and Singapore in 2020. In her current NLCS role, she is responsible for ensuring the educational standards in the expanding group of NLCS International Schools and chairs the Academic Board of all NLCS Headteachers.

Mrs. McCabe is Co-Director of the Prince’s Teaching Institute, which provides subject-based professional development programmes for state school teachers and leaders. She has advised successive Governments on education policy and served on national education committees, including the National Curriculum Advisory Committee from 2010, and the London Schools Excellence Fund which tackles underperformance in London Maintained schools, from 2013.
