Everyone loves to have long, shiny tresses but to have them so beautiful and healthy, you need to care for them. Hair care does not necessarily mean spending precious time and money in hair salons. Hair Care at home can be done in a budget, that too while attending your daily chores!
Like your skin and personality, your hair is also different from that of others. Before you begin with any hair treatment, you need to know your hair type and find a solution that works best for you. Those with dry and brittle hair, will have to use hair care products that moisturise and condition their hair, while those with oily hair will have to make sure the products or treatments do not make their scalp and hair too greasy.
If you know your hair type, you can try these natural and nourishing hair treatments at home. All the ingredients are absolutely natural and your scalp will not mind their nourishing goodness.
For Dry and Damaged Hair
Extra Moisture Treatment:
Start with a hot oil massage for your scalp. Take warm almond oil and massage it into your scalp with your fingertips in gentle circular motions. Massage all over the scalp and put on a hot towel for 20 minutes.
Then apply the following hair pack:
1 – Egg
2- Tablespoon honey
2- Table spoon olive oil
Beat the whole egg and mix honey and olive oil. Beat them together once again. Apply this pack all over your scalp and along the length of your hairs. Put on a shower cap and wait for at least 30-40 minutes. Then rinse it off with warm water and a good herbal shampoo for dry hair.
This pack nourishes your hair from roots to end.
After shampooing, take 1 cup of skimmed milk and rinse it into your wet scalp and hair. Leave it on your hair for 5 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. It’s an excellent natural conditioner to keep your hair soft and supple.
Once you do this treatment, you will love your hair.
Moisturizing Avocado hair pack:
½ – Avocado
1 – Tablespoon olive oil
4 – Tablespoon mayonnaise
Peel and mash Avocado. Blend mayonnaise, avocado, and olive oil together and apply this mixture on your scalp and along your hair. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse it off with a mild shampoo.
It nourishes and conditions your hair thoroughly.
For Oily Hair
If you have oily hair, it’s important to wash your hair often, but also remember not to overdo the same. Shampooing too many times is also not too good. The oil glands of the scalp may get over stimulated, only to worsen the situation. Hence wash your hair as and when required. You can try the following recipes, before or while shampooing your hair.
Whisk 2 egg whites and apply it along your hair. Wait till it dries and then rinse it off with warm water and shampoo. It helps remove excess oil from your hair, leaving behind shiny hair minus the grease.
A Lemon rinse with juice of 1 lemon in warm water is also very good for removing excess oil from your hair.
Adding a few drops of patchouli essential oil to your shampoo while rinsing hair can help oily hair retain a healthy shine and growth.
Take 1-tablespoon apple cider vinegar and mix it with 2 cups of warm water. Rinse your hair with this mixture after you are done with shampooing. It adds shine and bounce to your otherwise sticky hair.
For Normal To Oily Hair
4 – Tablespoon henna powder
1 – Tablespoon coconut oil
1 – Tablespoon lemon juice
1 – Egg
Beat the egg thoroughly. Mix in the oil and lemon juice. Gradually add henna and keep mixing to prevent lumps. Make a fine smooth paste. Leave it aside for 30-45 minutes. Then apply the pack on your scalp and along the hair. Put on a shower cap and wait for at least 45 minutes before you rinse it off.
This is an excellent cleanser and conditioner. It adds bounce and radiance to your hair.
