These coconut and hazelnut truffles are the simplest Christmas treats you can ever make! They look absolutely Christmassy and taste irresistibly delicious, just the perfect Christmas sweet to make when you’re short on time.
400g sweetened condensed milk (1 tin)
2 and ½ cups tea biscuits or digestive biscuits crushed.
1 cup hazelnuts, roasted
½ cup finely desiccated coconut
½ cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Icing sugar for dusting (optional)
In a bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk with melted butter, cocoa powder and crushed biscuits. Mix well and roll into small balls. Stuff each ball with a toasted hazelnut inside. Roll the ball between your palms to cover the hazelnut. Roll it once again in desiccated coconut ensuring all sides are evenly coated with coconut (If your child is small and you’re worried about chocking from the hazelnut, you can grind the nuts into a coarse powder instead). Place the balls in a tray and chill. Before serving, dust a little icing sugar and garnish with pieces of chewy candy in Christmas colours.
