5 good reasons to exercise regularly

Exercise for good health

Exercise is directly related to your body weight and general health.  When you exercise you burn calories, which means your body is working extra hard to release the energy required for the physical activity. In order to release this energy, your body makes use of the sugars and fats stored in the body, thereby regulating the metabolism and BMI. Those who exercise regularly are less prone to lifestyle disorders like Diabetes, Heart disease and High blood pressure. Exercise is also said to reduce the risk for Cancer.  Physical activity boosts your immune system helping you fight better against common infections and allergies. Several research studies have proved it time and again that those who exercise regularly not only live longer but also lead a much healthier, happier life.

Exercise to improve blood circulation.

When you exercise, your heart rate goes higher, which means your heart is pumping out more oxygenated blood to meet the increased demand. Regular cardio exercise also makes your heart muscle stronger resulting in better output.  When you exercise, the blood vessels within the muscle tissues dilate in order to supply extra oxygen and nutrients to the muscle cells. When there is improved blood circulation, your kidneys function much more efficiently, helping your body get rid of toxins from the blood. Physical activity also reduces your chances of having varicose veins and piles. Exercise is great for your skin too. By increasing the blood flow to your skin cells, exercise cleanses and eliminates toxins from the skin cells giving your skin a healthy radiance.

Exercise for increasing energy levels

Several research studies have shown that regular physical activity increases energy levels and reduces body fatigue. Exercising regularly results in stronger muscle tissues and builds endurance. Exercise also stimulates your brain to release certain chemicals that are known to lift your mood and make you feel happy and energetic. So if you happen to feel lethargic or tired from your everyday activities, you may need a daily dose of exercise to build your stamina and boost your energy levels.

Exercise for good sleep

Regular exercise is great for people who suffer from sleep disorders, stress and anxiety. Exercise eliminates the stress hormones and makes you feel lighter. It relaxes your body and calms your mind, thereby helping you sleep better. Exercising too vigorously, too close to bedtime is however not recommended. It is best to exercise at least a couple of hours before bedtime.

Exercise for digestive health

One of the key reasons for constipation is lack of physical activity. When the large intestine is sluggish, it takes longer time for stools to be eliminated, which means more water is absorbed from the intestines into your body, causing dry and hard stools. Regular exercise improves bowel movement by stimulating your intestinal muscles and helping them contract better. This helps move the stools out of your digestive tract quickly. A healthy gut indicates better digestion, better absorption of nutrients and better elimination of toxic gases.
